According to the latest report, HBO Max will release a brand new Apple TV application before the end of this year to completely solve the various problems encountered by users in the current version. In May, HBO Max removed its products from Apple’s Apple TV, and subsequently released a separate tvOS application, but the update of the application disrupted important functions of the HBO Max service.
In June, HBO Max gave up its native tvOS video playback application and switched to a custom video player, but this brought the video to fast-forward and rewind problems. After recognizing its mistake, HBO quickly restored the native tvOS video player, but there are still problems with subtitles and audio descriptions in playback control. According to HBO Max executives revealed to Vulture, HBO Max will launch a new application to completely solve these problems, but Apple Apple TV users may need to wait until the end of this year.
Warner Media also admits that the current HBO Max application is not developed from scratch, but has been running on the modified version of the old HBO Go and HBO Now.
