Microsoft announced the launch of the private preview phase of Visual Studio 2022 for Mac. To register, volunteers can use the survey form to register. If you are successful, Microsoft will contact you and provide a link to download the preview version.
Microsoft said that this is the first version of its .NET integrated development environment. The interface has been updated, fully integrated with macOS UI, and crashes have been fixed. Although the UI integrates better with macOS, Microsoft also pointed out that it feels more familiar with the experience on Windows, so users who switch between different platforms will have a flatter learning curve.
Microsoft said that it has high requirements for the quality of Visual Studio 2022 for Mac, so it hopes to suppress more bugs in the private preview stage, and then open it to the public for preview. Although this update brings a footer status bar, a new tab model for the document/tool window, and refreshed dark and light themes, the future preview version will bring new preference user interfaces and tools Window drag and drop and Git branch selector in the status bar.
Especially in this early stage of the product cycle, feedback is crucial for Microsoft. To report your feedback, in Visual Studio for Mac, go to Help > Report a Problem or Help > Provide Suggestions.
