Although there are many competitors on the market that have set foot in flexible display panels, Samsung is still in the leading position in the commercialization of folding screen devices.
The latest news is that Ross Young of DisplaySearch, a well-known tipster in the display industry, pointed out that Samsung Display will also provide flexible screen technology and supply support for a number of mobile device manufacturers. Ross Young wrote in a tweet that Samsung Display will fully bet on 120Hz/LTPO flexible display panels in 2021.
Today’s leak – All 2021 foldables using panels from Samsung Display will be 120Hz and LTPO. This of course covers the 6.70″ Z Flip 3, 7.55″ Z Fold 3 as well as the 7.57″ foldable from Google, 7.11″ from Oppo, 8.2″ from Vivo and 8.1″ from Xiaomi.

This includes the 6.7/7.55 inch flexible screen used on Samsung’s own Galaxy Z Flip 3/Galaxy Z Fold 3 folding screen smartphone and Google’s 7.57 inches, OPPO’s 7.11 inches, Vivo’s 8.2 inches, and Xiaomi’s 8.1-inch folding screen.
If the news is reliable, this means that the above brands will be able to quickly deliver mature folding screen products in the next few months. However, related equipment is unlikely to make great progress in terms of folding ability and thickness control.
