Microsoft announced the release of the Windows 11 Build 22000.71 (KB5004252) update to users of the Insider Program.
Changes & Improvements
- Microsoft has introduced a new entertainment gadget. This component allows users to view new movies and selected movies available in the Microsoft Store. Choosing a movie will lead the user to the Microsoft Store to view more information about the movie. Users only need to open the widget and click the Add widget button to select the entertainment widget.
- The new context menu and other right-click menus have been updated to use acrylic material.
- Microsoft is testing the usability of SplitButton to create new folders and files in the file explorer command bar.
- The taskbar preview (when the user hovers over the taskbar to open the app) has been updated to reflect the new visual design of Windows 11.
Repair
Mission Board
- Fixed an issue where if the user drags the application icons on the taskbar to rearrange, the application will be launched or minimized when the user releases the icon.
- Use long-press and touch the app icon in the taskbar to open the jump list should now work.
- After right-clicking the Start icon in the taskbar, clicking elsewhere should now close the menu more reliably.
- Shift + right-click on the application icon in the taskbar will now bring up the window menu as before, instead of the jump list.
- Solved the problem that the mouse moves slowly when hovering over the taskbar preview.
- Fixed an issue when using multiple desktops, where the application icon in the taskbar may show that multiple windows are open, which is not the case on this desktop.
- When using Amharic IME, users no longer see an unexpected X next to the IME icon in the taskbar.
- If the user clicks on the input indicator on the taskbar, the problem that the quick settings will be highlighted has been fixed.
- When the user hovers the mouse over the task view, after closing the desktop with Esc, the desktop preview pop-up window will no longer pop up.
- Fixed the following problem: explorer.exe may crash after hovering the mouse over the task view icon in the taskbar.
- Fixed an issue where the selected date in the calendar pop-up window was not synchronized with the date in the taskbar.
- Solved the situation that caused some Insiders to not see the calendar text in the pop-up window when the calendar was enabled in Settings.
- Solved an issue that could accidentally make the taskbar background transparent.
- Right-click on the focus assist icon in the taskbar and the context menu should now be displayed.
- In the previous version, the problem that the icons in the corner of the taskbar were pressed at the top of the taskbar has been solved.
- The tooltip of the location icon being used in the taskbar should no longer be blank.

- Fixed an issue that caused the settings to periodically crash at startup.
- Using the volume mixer slider in the sound settings should now be more responsive, as well as the responsiveness of the entire page.
- Fixed an issue that caused the change size option of disk and volume label settings to be cropped.

- When not in use, the power and battery settings page should no longer report that the battery saver is in use.

- When using the Outlook client with a Microsoft account, calendar and to-do updates should be synchronized to the widget faster.
- Solved an issue that if users quickly add multiple widgets from the widget settings, some widgets may not be visible.
- Fixed a bug that widgets may be stuck in the loading state (blank squares in the window).
- The traffic widget should now follow the Windows mode (light or dark).
- The title of the sports widget should no longer not match the content of the widget.
Other
- Solved the problem that sometimes ALT + Tab got stuck in the open state and had to be closed manually after the user released the key.
- Fixed an issue where the focus did not finally appear on the emoji panel after opening the emoji panel using keyboard shortcuts.
- The lens view of the magnifying glass has been updated and now has rounded corners.
- Solved a problem that obviously affected the startup reliability of some Insiders.
- The most frequently used text in the application list of the Start menu has been updated and will no longer be clipped.
- Using semantic zoom in the application list will no longer cause the list to be pushed down to the right of the window edge.
- Fixed an issue, if users press WIN + Z, they need to press Tab first, and then use the arrow keys to browse the alignment layout.
- Solved the problem that the acrylic area may remain on the screen after repeatedly using the touch key to pop up the window.
- Microsoft has done some work to reduce unexpected flashes when moving the capture window by touching it.
- When “Show accent colors on the title bar and window borders” was turned off, Microsoft made changes to help window borders have more contrast.
