Do you want to set a reminder via Google Search? Then you will probably see a list of search results instead of a notification that the reminder has been set. Many users are currently experiencing this issue.
Set Google Search reminder
You can set a reminder via Google Search by using the commands ‘remind me’ or ‘set a reminder for’ and then enter the reminder yourself in the search box. Currently, that command is broken for many users, Piunika Web discovered. You can type reminders or use the microphone in the Google Search app to dictate a reminder, but unfortunately at this point, you’ll only see a list of results in the Google Search app.
Reports of problems with setting or adjusting reminders using the Google Search app are pouring in on the official help page. The first complaints date back to 2019, and the number of complaints has risen significantly in recent weeks. Also in the editors, setting reminders via Google Search no longer works, and unfortunately, we are not sure if and when there will be a solution.
You can still use Google Assistant to set a reminder. You can do this on your smart speaker, smart display or phone as follows:
- Say “OK Google” to activate the Google Assistant
- Specify the reminder, e.g. “OK Google, remind me to drop off the mail at 2 p.m.”
- The Assistant will confirm your reminder and then you’re done
Google apps suffer from problems more often. In June there were also synchronization problems with Gmail, the Google app kept crashing on many Android phones and Google Search kept showing a blank page after entering a search query. In March had almost anyone with an Android phone last several crashing apps for the app Android Webview System.
