Windows 11 will be launched later this year, and as already announced, it will be offered as a free upgrade to certain eligible Windows 10 devices. In other words, once the new operating system is online, these computers will receive a notification in Windows Update that Windows 11 is available for their devices.
Once the user agrees to the installation, the entire process will proceed automatically, requiring a restart to complete the installation. The process is very simple and straightforward, but what if some people don’t like the new operating system after upgrading to Windows 11 and want to go back to Windows 10? Microsoft will use the same downgrade policy as Windows 10 feature updates.
In other words, if you want to go back to Windows 10 from Windows 11, you can easily do this using a built-in operating system feature, but the feature is only available within 10 days after installing Windows 11. Starting from the 11th day, all downgrades will require a clean install, because the necessary files to go back to Windows 10 will be deleted.

“After you install the Windows 11 upgrade, there are 10 days to move back to Windows 10, while retaining the files and data you brought. After 10 days, you need to back up your data and perform a “clean installation” to roll back to Windows 10,” Microsoft explained.
In theory, 10 days is enough for you to figure out whether you like the new operating system or whether you have encountered any obvious problems that will prevent you from using it correctly. Windows 11 will be launched this fall, and free upgrades will begin in early 2022.
