If you joined the Windows Insider project recently (after June 24) and your device is not eligible for the upgrade, then when you try to upgrade Windows 11, you may see the following error: Your PC does not comply with Windows 11 Minimum hardware requirements. Your channel choices will be limited. Here is a solution.
Fortunately, this restriction can be easily bypassed only by modifying the registry. The whole steps are as follows:
- Back up the registry
- Open Windows Settings> Update & Security> Windows Insider Program
- Click “Get Started” to connect your Microsoft account to register for the Insider project
- Select the available channel: Release Preview
- Click Restart as prompted
- After restarting, enter the Windows Insider project and check whether the Dev channel option appears
- If not, then enter the registry in the start menu
- In the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\UI\Selection
- Change the text in the UIBranch key to Dev
- Change the text in the ContentType key to Mainline
- Change the text in the Ring key to External
- Then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ WindowsSelfHost \ Applicability path
- Change the text in the BranchName key to Dev
- Change the text in the ContentType key to Mainline
- Change the text in the Ring key to External

After completing these operations, you should be able to test the Windows 11 preview version on unsupported devices. You can use Microsoft’s PC health check tool or manually check for upgrades.
Users can use the Get-Tpm command in PowerShell (with permission) to check TPM compatibility. However, it should be noted that when the Windows 11 system is officially released, you need to roll back to the Windows 10 system, because your device does not meet the minimum hardware standards of Windows 11.
Method Two:
If you don’t have a Microsoft account, here is a simple script to add unsupported devices to the Dev channel and install Windows 11
- Download the script from the GitHub website
- Right-click the script and enable it with “Administrator Privileges”
- The command line window will display the Windows Insider project channel
- Select the corresponding ID of the Dev Channel
- Press Enter
- Restart
- Go to Windows Update and click Check for Updates to start downloading the Windows 11 version.
OfflineInsiderEnroll is a simple script that can be used on devices with local accounts, but you need to set the telemetry to full to receive the preview version.
