macOS Monterey was officially released at WWDC 2021, bringing a variety of new features, as well as a brand-new Safari browser. According to MacRumors news, the new version of the system also adds a native password manager feature.
This tool can be found in the settings, which is convenient for users to manage accounts on third-party websites without having to remember complex passwords. Previous third-party management tools Lastpass, 1Password, etc. can be replaced with this feature.
When the Password tool is opened, you need to use Touch ID or a password to log in to your Apple account. After entering the tool, users can import or export passwords, and support manual input of URLs, user names, and passwords.

This password manager also supports the authenticator feature and is suitable for iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. When users visit third-party websites, they can log in using two-factor authentication. These passwords are stored in the iCloud keychain and support cross-device synchronization.
Apple also provides an iCloud password extension for Microsoft’s Edge browser, which supports the synchronization of iCloud passwords on the Edge browser. Currently, macOS 12 Monterey’s password manager has been effective in the development version of the system, and the official version is expected to arrive this fall.
