Nintendo Switch has received the latest system update. Although it is not large, it will fix some digital store bugs reported by players. Version 12.0.3 was released yesterday. According to Nintendo’s official patch notes, it only adds general system stability improvements to enhance user experience.

However, Switch data miner OatmealDome investigated the actual changes to the Switch firmware and pointed out on Twitter that there were the following changes:
- OS kernel and key services
- SSL (used to create a secure connection to the server)
- List of prohibited words in the system

A few hours later, OatmealDome tweeted again, providing more information about SSL updates, which appeared to be to fix digital store bugs. Some players recently claimed that they encountered an error code-named 2123-1502 when trying to access the eShop.
According to OatmealDome, the 123 error group is related to SSL, and code 1502 refers to the console “receiving an unexpected handshake from the peer”. Therefore, this update seems to fix the issue for anyone who encounters the bug.
