HarmonyOS is a family of operating systems developed by Huawei. Unveiled on 9 August 2019, it was described as being a microkernel-based, distributed, the embedded operating system for the Internet of Things (IoT) devices, but that it could be used as a mobile operating system in the future. HarmonyOS 1.0 was first used by Huawei smart TVs for the Chinese market in September 2019. HarmonyOS 2.0 was then released for Huawei smartphones and tablets in June 2021.
HarmonyOS 2.0 launched at the Huawei Developer Conference on 10 September 2020. Huawei announced it intended to ship the operating system on its smartphones in 2021. The first developer beta of HarmonyOS 2.0 was launched on 16 December 2020. Along with the beta, Huawei announced a developer competition with awards that total up to 1.5 million CNY. Huawei also released the DevEco Studio IDE, which is based on IntelliJ IDEA, and a cloud emulator for developers in early access.

According to the latest report, Huawei has officially pushed the stable version of HarmonyOS 2.0 for the listed devices. This firmware available on build number 2.0.0.116 and the size package of this update is only 389MB. This update adds a switch to show widget bars. In addition, a bar is added to the desktop under the application icons, where a service tool can be created.
