The 2021 iPad Pro will allow users to download and install iPadOS updates via 5G, a feature that was previously introduced on the iPhone 12. As the proportion of iPhones that support 5G starts to rise, Apple has added an additional option to iOS that allows iPhone 12 users to download iOS updates when connected to a 5G cellular network. In Friday’s support page update, Apple brought the same features to iPadOS.
In the section titled Using 5G with Your iPad on the support page, Apple explained to users how to manage their data connections on the updated iPad Pro models. In the part about the data mode, users can now let iPadOS update allow more data on 5G.
By selecting this feature, allows iOS to use more data in its various system tasks and application features, such as higher-quality FaceTime video transmission or high-definition content streaming. This option also allows iPadOS updates to be carried out over the cellular network.
