Given that working from home has become very common, the utilization rate of Microsoft 365 services has increased significantly in the past year or so. Microsoft recently detailed some of the new features of Office 365 services, first of all, integrating Outlook in Microsoft Edge, the default browser of Windows 10. Paid companies and customers with free accounts will be able to access Outlook email on Microsoft’s Edge new tab page.
Like the Meet Now integration in Microsoft Edge, it will take the form of a pop-up on the browser home page (NTP). As you can see in the screenshot below, incoming emails can be accessed directly from the new tab page, and the last three emails will appear in the pop-up window.
To get started, open Microsoft Edge’s NTP (home page), click the plus sign next to the current quick link, and select Outlook from the suggested menu that pops up. Then log in to Outlook with the same account as the currently logged-in Microsoft Edge to make this feature work normally. Once the function is enabled, you can send emails at any time, or generate a meeting in Outlook, which can be synchronized in all other services, such as Microsoft Teams.

In addition to Outlook integration, Microsoft is also exploring better support for web applications in Google Chrome and Chromium Edge. One of these features will enable the “Open With” dialog on Windows 10 to be supported.
Microsoft’s proposal will allow web applications to appear with other applications on Windows 10 when users click on the URL protocol (such as mailto://). Once enabled, the web application can self-register for various protocols, and it will also enable support for multiple browser configuration files.
In the latest preview version of Edge, the software giant is also testing support for reverse image search, more component integration of Microsoft Office, and other features.
