The lawsuit alleges that the iPhone 6 of the Texas plaintiff Robert Franklin exploded in August 2019 because the battery of the mobile phone itself was defective, posing a great safety hazard. At that time, Robert Franklin was listening to music on his iPhone 6, and the music suddenly started jumping. When Franklin picked up the phone to check it, the phone suddenly exploded and injured his face and eyes.

The lawsuit also alleges that the plaintiff’s wrist was sprained because of his fear of falling and supporting the ground subconsciously. Franklin suffered economic losses due to the incident, including the cost of replacing the iPhone, as well as medical expenses after his injury. It is reported that Franklin is still seeking a class action lawsuit to obtain a total of more than 5 million US dollars in compensation.

The iPhone 6 was first sold in 2014, and the plaintiff purchased it in 2018. It is not clear where he bought his phone, is it new or second-hand? What was the state of the phone before it exploded?
