Microsoft has officially named the Windows 10 21H1 version update May 2021 Update and released the release candidate Build 19043.928 in the release preview channel. The May update will start in May Launched to global users, there will be some minor improvements, mainly for corporate customers.
Windows 10 May 2021 update (21H1) is based on Windows 10 20H2 version and 2004 version. In other words, this is not a huge upgrade, without the long-rumored rounded corners, floating taskbar, and other design improvements.
Although the Windows 10 21H1 version is not the most anticipated update, it does bring improvements for corporate customers. In the May update of Windows 10, Microsoft said that it is working hard to support remote work scenarios.
The most important new feature in this update is the support for external Windows Hello cameras. In the initial update log, Microsoft pointed out that when the internal camera already exists, users can now use the external camera as the default solution for Windows Hello.

In this feature update, Microsoft has also made performance improvements to Windows Defender Application Guard (WDAG). This feature is suitable for corporate and professional customers. It is a virtualization layer that protects your computer when you browse untrusted websites. This feature is based on Hyper-V, which works on compatible hardware with virtualization enabled in the BIOS settings.
The third and last newly added feature is only for corporate customers. According to the update log, Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) has been updated and performance has been improved to support remote work.
The Windows 10 May 2021 update is still in the final stage of testing, and anyone can download it by joining the release preview channel. Although it has been finalized, it will still receive one or two cumulative updates with security and non-security fixes before it is officially released to users.
