During the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung released its latest Galaxy Book Odyssey notebook computer, which has a built-in Intel Tiger Lake CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 series discrete GPU, 135W USB Type-C charging. The specifications and design choices of the Samsung Galaxy Book Odyssey are very interesting. First of all, we saw a laptop equipped with a 15.6-inch 1080p Full HD panel (TFT LCD). It uses a mysterious black color scheme, and the “Odyssey” logo on the top shell uses a silver polished style.
Although Samsung did not mention the type of processor, it is believed that it should be the standard Tiger Lake CPU of the H series, not the ultra-low voltage U series. On the GPU side, there is a huge upgrade because it provides the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 series GPU. Users can choose the standard GeForce RTX 3050 Max-Q or higher-end GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Max-Q GPU options.
From the specification point of view, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti notebook GPU will be equipped with 2560 cores in 20 SM units. The standard clock of this GPU is 1485MHz, the increased clock speed is 1695MHz, with 4GB GDDR6 VRAM, running through a 128-bit bus interface, the on-chip TGP is expected to peak at 95W. The GPU uses dynamic boost technology, so the actual TGP should be around 80W. When necessary, the boosting algorithm will push 15W of power into the chip.
On the other hand, the slightly lower NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 will be equipped with 2048 CUDA cores, including 16 SM units. The base clock is 1500 MHz, which can be increased to 1740 MHz. It is also equipped with 4GB GDDR6 VRAM and runs through a 128-bit bus interface. TGP will be the same as RTX 3050 Ti, with a peak value of 95W (standard 80W/configurable 60W).

Other specifications include up to 32GB of LPDDR4x memory, up to 1TB of NVMe storage, expandable by an additional M.2 slot, input/output interfaces including one HDMI, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 (Type-A + Type-C) Port, an RJ45 network port, an audio jack, a MicroSD card reader, and a security hole.
In terms of battery, Samsung Galaxy Book Odyssey is equipped with an 83Wh battery pack, powered by a 135W USB Type-C charger. In terms of communication, it supports WiFi 6, 802.11 ax 2×2 and Bluetooth v5.1. Additional features on the laptop include Dobly Atmos audio, 720p HD camera and dual-array microphones.
Samsung announced that the retail price of the Galaxy Book Odyssey notebook will start at $1,399 (15.6-inch model). It will naturally cost more to choose models with higher specifications. Pre-orders start today, and it is expected to ship in August.
