After the fourth quarter of 2020, Tesla Model Y once again became Tesla’s most popular electric car in California in the first quarter of this year. According to data from the research company Cross-Sell, in the first quarter of this year, the number of Model Y registered in California was 12,227, while the number of Model 3 registered in California was 8,060, down 54% year-on-year.
In other words, during the quarter, Model Y registered more than 4000 vehicles in California than Model 3, which is the company’s best-selling model in California. Interestingly, this is not the first time this has happened. Cross-Sell data shows that in the fourth quarter of 2020, Model Y registered more than Model 3 in California.

This car has been delivered in the North American market since the first quarter of last year. Currently, the company produces Model Y in its Fremont plant and Shanghai super plant.
