To optimize the Proton user interface Firefox 89/90 test cycle extended to 6 weeks

Citing FX Train website reports, Mozilla plans to extend the test cycle of Firefox 89. This version was originally scheduled to be released on May 18 this year, but now the company has decided to postpone it to June 1.

German technology media Sören Hentzschel was the first to notice this time change. Mozilla said that the delay was to allow more time to test the new Proton user interface. Firefox 89 will go through a 6-week test cycle, and Firefox 90 will also go through a 6-week period before returning to the 4-week update cycle.

Firefox 88 will continue to be released in 4 weeks and will be released on April 20 this year. Currently, Firefox 89 has entered the Nightly branch. Users can download Firefox Nightly now to test the new Proton UI. The most obvious change in the new interface is the tab, which floats in the tab bar instead of appearing to be fixed on the URL bar.
