According to sources familiar with the matter on April 8, Twitter has held talks in recent months to acquire Clubhouse, a popular audio social network. People familiar with the matter said that the two sides discussed the possibility of acquiring Clubhouse at a valuation of 4 billion U.S. dollars, but the discussion has stopped moving forward, and it is still unclear why the negotiations have stalled.
Bloomberg said earlier this week that Clubhouse is discussing with investors to launch a new round of financing at a valuation of US$4 billion. A Twitter spokesperson declined to comment. A representative of Clubhouse has not yet commented.
