Apple CEO Tim Cook said that he does not expect to remain in the company for the next ten years, but does not plan to resign yet. In an interview with “New York Times” author Kara Swisher on a podcast, the Apple CEO declined to discuss succession plans but talked about how long he might continue to lead the company.
Cook has entered his tenth year as CEO of Apple. In a podcast interview, Swisher specifically asked whether he will be there in another ten years. “In another ten years?” Cook said. “Maybe not. But I can tell you that I feel good now, and the date has not yet arrived. But another ten years is a long time, and it may not be another ten years.” Swisher asked what plans he had after he left and what he might do if Apple fell behind.

“I don’t have a clue, because I love this company so much, it’s hard to imagine life without it.” He said. “So I don’t think I will know until I’m not here. Because I think I will run fast, and I won’t really think of it until I don’t run anymore. Does this make sense?”
Cook’s tenth anniversary as CEO is in August. During the illness of co-founder Steve Jobs, he did have full control of Apple at certain times. However, he only took over permanently on August 24, 2011.
