The “Devil Hunter” series and Cyberpunk 2077 developer CDPR held an online press conference this morning. The company’s CEO Adam Kiciński said that he would learn lessons and reorganize the company’s development philosophy and publicity policies. Future game announcements will shorten the schedule and move closer to the game release date.
CDPR executives said, “We need to significantly shorten the waiting period between the announcement and the game release” and make the announcement content such as trailers, demos, and displays as close as possible to the game release date. This decision comes from the operation of Cyberpunk 2077.
According to the roadmap shown by CDPR, the main work in 2021 is the follow-up patch of “Cyberpunk 2077”, the next-generation upgrade package, and free DLC. “Devil Hunter” also has a next-generation upgrade package here-the next-generation version of “Devil Hunter 3: Wild Hunt” will be released in the ultimate form of the game, and users of existing versions will be able to upgrade for free at that time. The company is also preparing to perfect the Gwent card game and release a derivative mobile game of “Devil Hunter”.

In order to strengthen the development force, CDPR acquired Digital Scapes studio located in Vancouver. This unit had previously produced “Cyberpunk 2077” for CDPR, and earlier helped another Polish company Techland in the “Dying Light” zombie confrontation mode. Why does this small studio always like to be with Poles? Well, the owner of the Digital Scapes studio is of Polish origin.
CDPR currently has four studios, which are located in Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, and Vancouver. Starting from 2022, the company will parallel multiple 3A projects, called “Red 2.0 Transformation”, each of which will receive technical assistance from a team of cross-project experts. To support large-scale development, the company will continue to seek outsourcing and external cooperation, and actively explore the possibility of acquiring more development units.
The company previously stated that it would treat multiplayer games based on “Cyberpunk 2077” as a 3A project to operate, but CDPR has abandoned this idea. The company will continue to focus on single-player games in the future. Of course, the games will have online content, but they will not overwhelm the guests, and they will not engage in pure multiplayer games.
