According to The Elec report, the research company UBI Research recently stated that Samsung plans to start producing low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) OLED displays for Apple in the first half of 2021. LTPO displays consume less power than standard OLED displays and will be used in iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. According to reports, the two models are codenamed D63x and D64x.
Weibo blogger Digital Chat Station further confirmed that Apple is testing the new iPhone 13 Pro series with the Samsung LTPO 120Hz screen. The Elec said that Apple will use LTPO TFT OLED panels in the high-end iPhone models launched in 2021, and these panels will be provided by Samsung.
