More and more evidence shows that Twitter will add a “cancel tweet” feature, but users who want to get this feature must pay: application researcher Jane Manchun Wong discovered a subscription interface linked to this feature.

When it will be widely used is still unknown, but it is understandable why Twitter would consider retaining this feature for its potential subscription service: What better temptation than the “keep yourself out of trouble” button?

Twitter has not said whether the feature will be limited to paying customers-it is possible that its development progress is not far enough, and this decision has not been made.
It’s also worth noting that the design of this button indicates that its working principle is likely to be similar to the “Undo Send” button in Gmail, which is to wait a few seconds before actually sending the message. In other words, it is not the edit button that people desire, but it can at least achieve this function in some ways.
If Twitter is open to the suggestion of the cancel button, you can also consider adding a warning about offensive content on Twitter, giving users a few seconds to reconsider. Whether this will fix the overall atmosphere on Twitter is hard to say, but at least it might be worth a try.
