According to reports, ASUS is developing a smaller version of its popular ZenFone series of smartphones, called ASUS ZenFone 8 Mini. Although its name has other hints, Asus ZenFone 8 Mini will bring complete high-end specifications, such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and high refresh rate screen. Like its predecessors, Asus ZenFone 8 will have multiple iterations, most of which should provide similar specifications.
According to XDA reports, Asus ZenFone 8 Mini (code-named Sake) plans to use a 5.9-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Although it is unclear how many rear camera modules this device will carry, one of the modules is expected to be a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor, and the other is an unreleased Sony IMX663 lens. What we are likely to see is a simplified version of the ASUS ZenFone 8 (code-named Picasso) camera settings.

Part of the camera configuration of Asus ZenFone 8 includes a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, a 12.2MP Sony IMX363 sensor and an 8MP telephoto sensor. There may also be a fourth lens added, but it is still unclear. We can see that both Asus ZenFone 8 Mini and Zenfone 8 share camera hardware. Therefore, we have reason to believe that their camera specifications will be very similar or even identical. In addition, Asus ZenFone 8 seems to be equipped with a Pixelworks i6 vision processor, and this processor also appeared on the recently released Asus ROG Phone 5.
