According to MacRumors reported, Apple today released a new 3C39 firmware specifically designed for AirPods Max. This is also the second firmware update that this high-end over-ear headset has received since its launch in December last year.
The new 3C39 firmware replaces the 3C16 firmware released on the day of AirPods Max’s launch. Apple did not provide the details of the new firmware update, so we are not yet sure what bug fixes or improvements the new firmware might provide. There are reports that AirPods Max has battery life issues, so a firmware update may solve this problem.
Before, some AirPods Max users stated that their batteries were obviously depleted overnight, even in smart headset cases. There is no standard way to upgrade the firmware on AirPods, AirPods Pro, or AirPods Max, but connecting AirPods Max to an iPhone or iPad while connected to a power source may be forced to update.
