WearOS is an operating system specially launched by Google for smartwatches, based on the Android kernel. According to the 9to5Google message, some Wear OS users use the “Hey Google” password to summon Google’s voice assistant function that has failed.
Many users have reported the failure on the Reddit forum. This bug first appeared in November 2020. When the smartwatch is on, the user cannot wake up Google Assistant by voice, and can only wake up the voice assistant by long-pressing the side button.
Google responded today, saying: “We have noticed the problems encountered by some users and will work with OEMs to improve the Wear OS experience.” However, Google has not announced the estimated time to fix the problem.
Google Wear OS was launched in 2018, and currently, many products such as Asus, Huawei, Samsung, Sony, Motorola and so on have applied the system. At present, the latest version of Wear OS H MR1 is developed based on Android 9. Foreign media expect Google will launch a new version of Wear OS based on the Android 11 kernel this year.
