According to the hidden code found in the first developer preview version of Android 12, Pixel 6 may have both Fingerprint & Face recognition features.
We know that Pixel 4 is giving up the fingerprint sensor and using face recognition to unlock it. Pixel 5 did the opposite, canceling face recognition and bringing back fingerprints.
Mishaal Rahman, the editor of foreign media XDA, discovered this string of codes in the Android 12 developer preview released for the first time yesterday. The code mentions registered face unlock and fingerprint unlock. The code also said, “make it easy to unlock the phone”, “save the time to unlock the phone in your pocket”, and “safely unlock the phone with your face and fingerprint.

Mishaal Rahman also said that Android 12 already natively supports the fingerprint function under the screen, and the next-generation Pixel (Pixel 6) will support this function.
People have been speculating that Apple is developing under-screen versions of Touch ID and Face ID. Just yesterday, Apple filed a patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), which is compatible with iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch screens. Related to the camera, depth sensor, a biometric sensor, etc.
For those interested in Pixel 6, the biggest question is whether Google will return the Pixel series to its flagship positioning. Pixel 5 uses the Snapdragon 765G instead of the flagship Snapdragon 865 chipset. If Pixel 6 really returns to its flagship positioning, it can be expected that it will use the current Qualcomm flagship chip Snapdragon 888, which is expected to be launched in October this year.
