Although Sony is a very big name in the technology market, Sony was unable to spread its light in the smartphone market. But they are trying to improve their devices, in this effort, Sony managed to provide Android 11 to its Xperia 1 II last month. Xperia 1 II was one of the flagship devices in Japan.
Now, the company has started rolling out Android 11 update to its Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 with the build number 55.2.A.0.630 for both devices. So far, it seems to be reaching Russia and South East Asia. The update weighs in at around 912MB for devices.

Additionally, the update brings a set of new features includes one-time permissions, bubble notifications, revamped notification shade, new adaptive icons, revamped recent app menu with new shortcuts for print-screen, and more. Worth noting that this update comes with December 1, 2020 security patch which isn’t the most updated available. However, it’s better having it than nothing.
According to its Android 11 roadmap, these devices would get the update in February. It’s great to see that the company is managing to bring updates ahead of its plans. With the 2019 flagships updated, the company may focus on mid-range devices like the Xperia 10 series. It’s unclear if devices that came before 2019 will get the Android 11 update-treatment.
Note: Before upgrading to the latest version make sure your smartphone is connected with a proper internet connection, we recommend you to download it over WIFI so that you will not face any error.
